We are currently looking for a Chief Architect to join our Storage solutions department in Boston, MA

JOB SUMMARY:

As Chief Architect this person serves as creator, designer and point person for cross server and storage based solutions by being extraordinarily knowledgeable in the applicable areas of Infrastructure.  Works to develop, enhance, promote, sell, and implement solutions for new and established customer base.  Maintains long term high touch relationship with critical clients. Easily understand technology and the business value. Can create executive level presentation and white paper deliverables.  Plans, develops, and coordinates activities to ensure that goals and/or objectives of the client are accomplished.  This position is 75% billable.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs and creates solutions - specific IP and complete “Go-to-Market” documentation including solution overview sheet, customer presentation and documented implementation methodology.
Pursuit of industry recognition as a thought leader by publishing white papers, case studies and accepting speaking engagements at industry events.
Key point of contact with Account Managers, Product Specialists, Solutions Architects, and Project Managers to create proposals, which include Statements of Work (SOW), Proofs of Concept (POC), and assessments for customers in assigned territory.
Oversees project proposals or plans to develop project plan, budgets, scope for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of ongoing projects.
Oversees Project Managers and Solution Architects to establish work plan and staffing for each phase of projects.
Work with Practice Director, Business Development Manager and Solution Architects to enhance vendor relationship based on proprietary offerings in Forsythe solution set.
Mentor Technical Consultants and Solution Architects on technical solutions, best practices, and customer value proposition.
Performs client management from front line systems personnel through CIO.
The Chief Architect will be required to train, mentor and develop this team in the proprietary IP that he/she will develop. Creates training and development plans for direct reports.

EDUCATION:

Four-year College or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:

10 years experience in technical project/program management managing large projects that involve coordination of multiple resources.
15 - 20 years technical expertise in storage and server architecture
Proven track record

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must be willing to travel
Vendor Certification

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

- 10 years experience implementing Sun Solutions or other server technology
- 15- 20 years experience in designing server and/or storage based solutions
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical manuals.
- Exceptional communication skills in customer response, pre-sales support and technical presentations
- Proven track-record in problem resolution through defining problems, collecting data, and creating innovative solutions to complex Information Technology related problems.
