Position Responsibilities - Summary:

Under direction of a Senior Manager, assumes task responsibility for systems
security and the management of related projects. Participates in
recommendations for emerging security technology. Actively participates in
patching, security scans, log analysis and other security tasks. Assists
with strategic and tactical planning within the Systems Group. Provides
moderately complex diagnosis and problem resolution. This position requires
a thorough understanding of every component of the infrastructure. This
position also requires 7×24 support of all mission critical systems.

Detailed Responsibilities:

- Assists in management of security infrastructure including:
installing firewalls / VPNs, updating Access Control Lists (ACLs), patching,
security scanning, resolving moderately complex security problems, security
monitoring and alerting, ensuring proper security settings on multiple
platforms: Windows / Unix / Linux, investigating and testing emerging server
technology, providing recommendations for purchase of new devices.

- Provides moderately complex systems management of network and
security infrastructure: Configuring and maintaining IDS/IPS, firewalls,
VPNs, routers, switches and devices, configuring monitoring and alerting for
security incidents, assisting with security design and documentation,
providing periodic trend analysis reports on the health of the
infrastructure, ensuring security using appropriate technology,
investigating and testing emerging technology.

- Assumes lead responsibility in the management of moderately
complex projects including: presenting proposals for new projects,
developing and managing timelines, identifying and securing resources to
complete tasks, providing detailed back out plans, providing details of
project cost, providing progress updates to everyone involved in the
project.

Required Skills and Competencies:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience required.

- A minimum of 7 years of infrastructure experience with systems
security and emerging security technologies; possess a thorough
understanding of infrastructure and have the ability to provide 24×7x365
support of all mission-critical systems.

- Project management experience required.

- Security experience a must.

- CISSP certification preferred.

- Must have security expertise in at least one computing
environment.

- Must have experience in configuring: IDS/IPS, firewalls and access
control lists, VPNs, network equipment, Windows and/or Unix, security
scanning software, syslogging

- The following is a plus: experience with: Web filtering, wireless
networking security, Windows patch management, user authentication,
Radius/TACACS, encryption

Other Requirements:

Must be able to do some intensive after business hours and weekend work.
