Position Responsibilities - Summary:
This position is responsible for network and voice operations globally. Working with the core infrastructure teams, this role insures the network and voice systems are operating to the highest level of availability.
This experienced Network Manager will provide the Network Services team with complimentary skills in supporting the user community. Candidates will posses strong management skills, expertise in managing a complex LAN and WAN environments across numerous business units globally. Candidate should be experienced in advanced network routing QOS, BGP and OSPF in a multi-vendor environment.
Strong management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and resources at the same time are critical. Strong accountability, organization and communication skills are a must in this role.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Oversee staff scheduling, projects, performance and training
- Establish and enforce best practices for network management, configuration changes, monitoring, patch management and security
- Responsible for short term and long term capacity needs
- Experienced in establishing and managing a budget for support, maintenance and hardware lifecycle refresh
- Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 network support for a complex enterprise WAN, LAN and Voice networks
- Responsible for all Voice and Data Network Providers for service delivery, capacity planning and operations troubleshooting
- Monitor and resolve service requests in accordance with published SLAs.
- Strong leadership, communications and presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate status to senior management team
- Review and assist in the creation of polices and procedures for enterprise network deployments
- Oversee compliance and approve change controls in accordance with change management processes
Required Skills and Competencies:
Experience in a large-scale financial services environment a plus.
- 7+ years Managing a team that supports Cisco LAN and WAN platforms Globally:
- Cisco Routers and switches (CatOS and IOS), ASA, ACE, CSS, VPN
- Routing protocols - OSPF, BGP, RIP
- Riverbed Steelhead, Infoblox DNS, F5 DNS
- IPC and Avaya VoIP (4610 and 4621 phones), 8300, 8500, 8700, Alliance switches are a plus
- Cisco certification is preferred
- Advanced Working knowledge (from a management perspective) of complex LAN and Wan environments, including VoIP and structured cabling required.
- Cisco device programming and troubleshooting including routers CatOS and IOS switches, ASA, ACE, CSS, VPN and wireless.
- Knowledge of Riverbed Steelhead, Infoblox DNS and F5 DNS is a plus.
- Avaya VoIP is a plus.
- Emphasis on sharing of knowledge through good communications, peer training and written documentation
- Strong inter-personal skills - Positive customer service and team attitude (helping others when required)

- Willingness to travel as required to remote sites during large deployments, as needed.
- Willingness to participate in on call rotation.
- A four-year undergraduate degree
Keys to this Position:
1. This is a Hands-on Manager that has managed a team of Strong Network Engineers. This individual will manage a staff of 6 to 8 Network Engineers.
2. Strong Technical skills required include:
a. 5 to 10 years of in depth Cisco Routing and Switching experience.
b. Expertise in managing a complex LAN and WAN environment.
c. Advanced working knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
3. CCNP or CCIE would be a nice to have.
