Role: Sr. Java Search Engineer - Software Developer

Salary: Up to $110K+ DOE
Required Skills and Competencies:
Â· 4+ years working directly with site/catalog natural language search technologies (must have)
Â· 3-5 years of java development experience in customer support, product development, or professional services/consulting in a customer-facing role - Expertise in developing complex tiered Java based
Internet applications. (must have)
Â· Requires a strong undestanding of complex computer science and software engineering principles. Proficiency in Java, OO Application Development, SQL, UNIX or NT is required.
Â· Working knowledge of how Search integrates with Commerce sites (must have)
Â· Familiarity with JBoss, BEA Weblogic, and/or IBM Websphere application servers (must have at least 1 or similar)
Â· Familiarity with Oracle and MS SQL databases (must have)
Â· Experience in implementing Java based applications including the use of E-commerce, Personalization and Scenario servers is a plus.
Â· Search/site architecture experience (a plus)
Â· Experience working directly for search technology vendor (highly preferred)
Â· Problem solving skills - Strong communicator - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills, are essential.
Â· Willing to be an individual contributor, but work as part of a team - An ability to act as a mentor to other technical staff is critical.
Â· Innovator, with ability to create repeatable tools and processes to facilitate knowledge transfer and task repeatability
Â· Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Mathematics, Software Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree or equivalent experience is desirable.
Work on medium to large-sized, single or multi-product projects, usually with multiple computer environments where design is complex.
Â· Analyze customer business requirements and software/product objectives; develops an application design in products to meet customer needs.
Â· Serve as a technical advisor and problem solver to clients and partners to assist them in optimizing their use of the product suite to define, build and deploy online commerce and self-service applications.
Â· Estimate time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project; develops project plan incorporating all project variables.
Â· Establish criteria concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and costs.
Â· Participate on project teams in the design, development and deployment of custom driven portal, e-commerce and relationship management solutions.
Â· Conduct periodic status checks with customers and team to assess progress against plan. Performs re-forecasts of project variables as necessary throughout project.
. Contribute to the growth of business through the creation and sharing of knowledge and best practices based on engagement experiences.
Â· Prepare status reports on all project activities.
Â· Tasks associated with the management of an internal staff of consultants may include: establishing goals, monitoring performance, performing staff appraisals or providing input to Professional Services
Regional Director, managing daily personnel issues, coordinating technical and consulting training, and acting as a liaison between staff and Professional Services management.
In addition to working on billable client engagements, the Consulting Engineer may also assist as needed on pre-sales opportunities such as RFP responses, proposal delivery, architecture assessments, and technical
