Role: Sr. Java Search Engineer - Software Developer

Location: - Anywhere in the US

Salary:
Up to $110K+ DOE

Required Skills and Competencies:

· 4+ years working directly with site/catalog natural language search technologies (must have)
· 3-5 years of java development experience in customer support, product development, or professional services/consulting in a customer-facing role - Expertise in developing complex tiered Java based
Internet applications. (must have)
· Requires a strong undestanding of complex computer science and software engineering principles. Proficiency in Java, OO Application Development, SQL, UNIX or NT is required.
· Working knowledge of how Search integrates with Commerce sites (must have)
· Familiarity with JBoss, BEA Weblogic, and/or IBM Websphere application servers (must have at least 1 or similar)
· Familiarity with Oracle and MS SQL databases (must have)
· Experience in implementing Java based applications including the use of E-commerce, Personalization and Scenario servers is a plus.
· Search/site architecture experience (a plus)
· Experience working directly for search technology vendor (highly preferred)
· Problem solving skills - Strong communicator - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills, are essential.
· Willing to be an individual contributor, but work as part of a team - An ability to act as a mentor to other technical staff is critical.
· Innovator, with ability to create repeatable tools and processes to facilitate knowledge transfer and task repeatability
· Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Mathematics, Software Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree or equivalent experience is desirable.

Responsibilities:

Work on medium to large-sized, single or multi-product projects, usually with multiple computer environments where design is complex.
· Analyze customer business requirements and software/product objectives; develops an application design in products to meet customer needs.
· Serve as a technical advisor and problem solver to clients and partners to assist them in optimizing their use of the product suite to define, build and deploy online commerce and self-service applications.
· Estimate time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project; develops project plan incorporating all project variables.
· Establish criteria concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and costs.
· Participate on project teams in the design, development and deployment of custom driven portal, e-commerce and relationship management solutions.
· Conduct periodic status checks with customers and team to assess progress against plan. Performs re-forecasts of project variables as necessary throughout project.
. Contribute to the growth of business through the creation and sharing of knowledge and best practices based on engagement experiences.
· Prepare status reports on all project activities.
· Tasks associated with the management of an internal staff of consultants may include: establishing goals, monitoring performance, performing staff appraisals or providing input to Professional Services
Regional Director, managing daily personnel issues, coordinating technical and consulting training, and acting as a liaison between staff and Professional Services management.
In addition to working on billable client engagements, the Consulting Engineer may also assist as needed on pre-sales opportunities such as RFP responses, proposal delivery, architecture assessments, and technical
qualifications.
