Position Responsibilities - Summary:
Client is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to join the Strategic
Initiatives Group to assist in the definition, design, development and
implementation of tactical projects to meet the strategic objectives of the
organization. A successful candidate will have a strong technical
background, a comprehensive understanding of the fixed income buy side asset
management business, work well within a collaborative environment, and show
strong attention to detail. This is a hands-on role with management
responsibilities for a development team; a solid understanding of database
and systems architecture and best coding practices is critical to success.

Detailed Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between end users and technical organization by
planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex automated
systems to solve business problems.
- Act as an internal consultant within technology and business
groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to
re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies.
- Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and
developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business
requirements.
- Manage projects from conception through to implementation, with
strong attention to detail.
- Coordinate projects in logical progression - identify, and manage
to, appropriate deadlines.
- Develop and implement robust test plans to assist in the testing
phases of the SDLC.

Required Skills and Competencies:
- 4 year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or Finance.
Post graduate a plus.
- 8-12 years of professional experience.
- Lead developer/management experience.
- Significant experience with Microsoft Products (SQLServer, .NET,
Sharepoint, Project, Office)
- Familiarity with Portfolio Accounting , Order Management, and CRM
Systems.
- Experience with Portia and/or Latent Zero a plus
- CFA charter or candidacy a Plus
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Solid understanding of buy side investment practices preferably
with Fixed Income Asset Classes
- Deep knowledge of relational database design and n-tier
architecture
- Solid understanding of Standard Development Life Cycle
- Ability to provide hands-on technical expertise - reading and
writing functional requirements, logical design documents and test plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively, and troubleshoot as needed,
with technical developers as well as end users.
