Churchill Downs, Inc., the leading public company in the thoroughbred horse racing industry, is looking for a Senior Technical Lead to lead the design,
development and ongoing enhancements for a Flex-based online video delivery and wagering platform as well as complementary consumer entertainment applications.This position will be required to review the designs and have a deep understanding of video streaming (both live and pre-recorded) with Flex-based applications. In addition, this position will work with various other groups, vendors, and contractors to drive the design and development of our online Flex-based video platform. The position is based in Mountain View, CA on Castro Street. Competitive base pay. Annual bonus for achieving schedule and release milestones.
Responsibilities:
- Lead several software teams (vendor and offshore) to develop and video-centric RIAs
- Work with management team to derive requirements
- Manage and maintain release schedules for Flex-based products
- Provide technical leadership in evaluating new features and capabilities as well as in design reviews
Qualifications:
- BS Computer Science or Engineering
- 3+ years of solid Flex experience developing RIAs
- 2+ years of experience in designing and architecting streaming-video RIAs
(preferably Flash-based)
- Experienced in web development utilizing web services
- Familiarity with Subversion or other source code control systems
- Experience with Java-based server-side platforms
- Experience with HTML, Javascript, CSS, AJAX
- Strong experience in PDLC models
- Successful experience utilizing RAD methodologies preferred (e.g. scrum, fdd, etc.)
- Experience working with and managing offshore engineering teams
