Position: Director of Business Applications and Information Technology
Location: NY/NJ area

Details:
We are conducting a search on behalf of our client, a mid tier financial services firm, for their head of business applications and IT. This position will report to the CIO and with dotted line responsibility to the business.

The Job:
We are looking for a director level individual to work directly with the management of the business group and the executive committee on a strategic and tactical level and who has. This position will be the main interface with the business heads who fund these projects. Besides overseeing the BA/IT organization, this individual will act in the role of a professional services (i.e. Accenture, Deloitte, etc.) engagement leader/ partner insuring that the business is happy and engaged. Listening and tact are very important skills as well as a very reassuring and professional demeanor. This individual needs to have outstanding interpersonal relationship skills and communication skills.

Additional responsibilities are: directs the organization which liaises between business users other stakeholders and the development team;  directs overall planning, execution, delivery, risks, and  budget.
Project managers, business analyst, etc for multiple concurrent major projects will report into this individual.

Requirements:
-Must be located in the NY/NJ area or able to relocate at your own expense.
-Must a have minimum of Bachelors Degree, prefer a Masters (MBA), PMP Certification is preferred
-Must have 10+ years in IT management and systems delivery.

Required Skills:
1. Exceptional business facing skills. Must be able to work with the business stakeholders at the highest level.
2. Experience managing systems development and delivery groups.
3. Experience managing business analysts
4. Experience working for a major corporation and must thrive in a political environment
5. Experience leading programs with multiple vendors in on shore and off shore delivery model to execute project deliverables.
6. Must be customer focused and oriented, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through professionalism and leadership.
7. Experience working for one of the top tier consulting firms at a Director level. (i.e., IBM Global, Accenture, Deloitte, etc.)
8. Must have a proficient level of project management skills, such as: Project Planning, Project Monitoring and Control, Project Issue/Risk Management, Project Status Reporting, Resource Management, Financial Management.
9. Must have very strong interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to partner with others, and to manage complex relationships.
10. Business or operational experience working with management is required.
11. Systems Planning and Portfolio Management experience is required.
12. Experience in vendor management, including establishment of service level management is required.
13. Must be able to manage a set of business applications
