Position: Director/Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations

Location: Seattle area


Our client is a leader in their space that designs and builds the industry’s
most complete lineup of products in their category. For this Director and/or
Senior Director level role our client is seeking a candidate with a strong
outbound supply chain background to set-up distribution points, interface
with logistics firms, etc. in this global role. The candidate will be
responsible for executing the development and implementation of the supply
chain management function for the company for this exciting position.

Principal responsibilities and duties:

Provide vision and leadership for the development and implementation of the
outbound supply chain distribution management system including strategies
and processes, coordinated with cross functional groups in sales, marketing,
IT, and engineering groups.

Responsible for execution of outbound supply chain strategies and
initiatives that support the company’s worldwide supply chain strategy.

Accountable for overall performance of distribution partners on cost,
quality, delivery to resellers and end customers.

In partnership with R&D and engineering organization provide supply
strategies that will help optimize configuration management through product
postponement strategies.

In partnership with planning, order fulfillment, sales organizations develop
an ongoing process with distributors to manage forecasting, lead times,
inventory strategies, to optimize customer deliver and minimize inventory
levels at the distributors.

Work cross divisionally to foster an environment of sharing and cooperation.
Be able to manage multi-site, multi-geography teams.

Develop innovative models with distribution partners to optimize overall
logistical network to minimize freight and logistic costs worldwide.

In partnership with sales/IT organizations and strategic distribution
partners develop efficient customer facing order systems.

Select, develop, and lead a best in class team of distribution and logistic

Willingness to travel greater than 25%.

Experience needed:

10 years of previous experience at enterprise level supplier management,
distribution management, and logistics.

5 years senior leadership experience in distribution.

Must have International experience.

Proven ability to work across all functions. Ability to work with customers,
field sales, engineering, finance, and operations.

Strong leadership track record in leading operational change initiatives.

Disciplined program management execution skills.

BS/MBA in Business, Engineering or other professional background.
