Position Responsibilities - Summary:
Working for a global investment management firm, this individual will work
within the Application Development Group for Investment Control Systems to
build and enhance user productivity solutions using Microsoft Office.  This
person will be assigned to work on a wide variety of projects, primarily as
an individual contributor.
Position Responsibilities - Detailed:
- Work with in-house staff, consultants and external parties to
develop and document Microsoft Office solutions.
- Participate in the design of long-term group strategies to
implement the IT needs of various business groups.
- Work with in-house staff to specify and develop application
technical architectures.
- Write application code which is technically sound and easily
maintainable, and that effectively employs all corporate programming
standards.
- Participate in the QA process and certify the quality of
production code.
- Coordinate availability of test environments and lab
configurations.
- Support production code on a scheduled basis.
- Provide technical support and enhancements for existing Excel and
Access-based applications

Required Skills and Competencies:
- 3 - 5 years relative work experience.  Financial Services
industry required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office development technologies (VBA,
Office Object Model). - Must have experience developing Excel VBA
applications for traders or portfolio managers
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience developing database applications required, with a
preference for experience with SQL Server.
- Ability to understand and manipulate pre-existing code.
- Experience with Visual Studio Toolkit for Office (VSTO)
preferred.
- Experience in the financial services sector preferred.
- Extremely strong interpersonal skills.
- Very strong organizational skills and detail orientation
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no
supervision
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet
deadlines
- Must be willing to take initiative and employ good follow-through
skills
- Strong accountability and results orientation.
- Flexibility in addressing changing requirements and schedules.
