Position Responsibilities - Summary:
This position provides the opportunity for a highly skilled system internals engineer with detailed knowledge of the internal workings of the Oracle DBMS - (MS SQL and DB2 LUW internals expertise is also of value) - develop system integration and activity monitoring solutions for a thriving, technology driven startup.
Specifically, We are looking for an Oracle internals expert who can lead an effort to solve a difficult activity monitoring issue involving the integration of user context from both the application and database tiers.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- At least 10 years experience as a system level development engineer working on administrative, performance, or monitoring software for the Oracle DBMS.
Specifically, experience with the following type of software is highly desirable:
- Enterprise software relied on or interfaced with internal or undocumented Oracle interfaces.
- The Oracle DBMS (i.e. you worked at Oracle on the database)
- Experience with the following specific technologies is required:
- Expert level knowledge of Oracle internals
- Expert level knowledge of UNIX system development and debugging
- C++ development and debugging skills
- Attention to details, organized, and responsive
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Other desirable skills and expertise:
- MS SQL and DB2 LUW internals expertise
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft system internals
