Position: Sustaining Engineer II job at EqualLogic/Dell - Nashua, NH

Company:
We are looking for an experienced professional who can perform the role
of a “Sustaining Engineer” for the Sustaining Engineering group. In this
position, the ideal candidate will have excellent problem solving
skills, along with communication skills. This is a multi-function
position so the ability to multi-task is essential.

In this role, the selected candidate will:
- Coordinate, respond, assign, track and follow-up on customer
problem reports/technical support requests for Engineering
- Troubleshoot, analyze, replicate, regress and resolve complex
field software problems escalated to Engineers by 3rd level technical
support.
- Reproduce customer issues and work with Engineers to resolve
them, by either establishing a workaround or a solution or by creating a
script or tool to solve the problem
- Perform detailed regression testing based on established
engineering principles to validate solutions/workarounds developed prior
to customer release
- Perform regression tests on software releases delivered by the
Sustaining Engineering team
- Develop tools to help replicate customer environments
- Assist in creating best practices guidelines

Preferred Knowledge:
- BSCS preferred with 7+ years in the storage networking
industry
- Perl Programming a plus

Required Skills:
- Prior experience configuring Networks and Storage
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Trouble-shooting skills
- Experience with UNIX and Windows Operating systems
- Experience with Database and Mail applications such as
Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Oracle, is also desired
- Experience with installing/configuring/troubleshooting VMWare
configurations connected to iSCSI storage
- SAN configuration and troubleshooting skills
- Some experience with troubleshooting performance related
problems
- Must have previous experience as a “hands on” Systems Engineer
or Storage Architect
