Senior Software Engineer

Zeitera, (www.zeitera.com), is a Silicon
Valley startup located in Mountain View, CA. Backed by experienced
technology investors with successful track records in building
technology companies, Zeitera is leading the emerging market for
intelligent content recognition solutions across the broadcast,
Internet, and consumer electronics ecosystem. Zeitera has a senior team
of computer vision, image processing, data-mining, and search experts
with experience in building large-scale systems at successful start-ups
as well as established technology companies.

This is a senior software engineering role requiring design,
implementation and development of production-quality software. An
individual in this position serves as the go-to team member responsible
for networking, product scalability and performance.

Job Duties:
Develop production server software and implement complex
algorithms. Perform software performance analysis and improvement.
Design and develop large-scale real time distributed software solutions.
Design and develop library APIs for embedded device-based customers.
Design and develop REST based web services for fingerprint based video
identification for distributed software solutions. Build automated
systems for logging, health monitoring and backup of important data.
Build and execute performance and scalability tests. Work with team to
ensure that software is tested and released with highest standards and
in a timely manner. Write wrapper modules for the core technology to
improve the usage and to evaluate the system.

Special Requirements:
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming in C++ for
both general purpose as well as embedded systems including use of
various GNU-based development tools;

- Background in designing high-performance custom databases
and familiarity with off-the-shelf database systems;

- Knowledge of concurrent programming using pthreads and
TCP/socket-level programming;

- Familiarity with performance tuning, caching algorithms,
solving memory and I/O (input/output) bottlenecks;

- Background interfacing with customers for design,
development, and continuous support

Knowledge and Experience:
- 5+ years of distinguished career in a software development
role

- Previous lead engineer role on a medium/large scale project
is required

- Strong C programming skills within a linux/unix programming
environment is required

- Strong understanding of inter-process communication and
experience with complex multi threaded software design is required

- Experience with a scripting language is required Strong
experience with networking and TCP/IP sockets programming is required.

Education :
- Four year degree in CS, CE is required. Master’s in
CS/EE is preferred.
