Senior level QA Engineer to grow in a leadership role with a fast-paced wireless applications company.
Permanent position - Herndon VA
The Lead QA Engineer will perform hands on quality assurance testing of two web-based, multi-tiered applications that support business-critical processes.  Serve as the day-to-day QA leader for a group of employees (local & remote) involved in inspection and testing according to established quality control procedures.

Testing Responsibilities will include:
- Define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components.
- Test and troubleshoot hardware and software systems related to Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) and vehicle telematics.
- Document equipment failures, preventative maintenance and/or corrective programs that may result from testing activities.
- Responsible for testing, documenting, implementing, and directing specific hardware and/or software projects.
- Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical staff.

Leadership Responsibilities will include:
- Planning, prioritizing, assigning, and directing work for the group.
- Assisting the Manager of QA with interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance,  rewarding and disciplining employees.
- Addressing and resolving departmental problems.
- Report team status and metrics to upper management as requested.

Qualifications:
- B.S. in Information Systems or an engineering discipline.
- Minimum of seven years experience in test and evaluation of software.
- Some experience in management or a leadership role with coaching, mentoring and teaching skills
- Substantial experience in and knowledge of software testing methodologies including agile.
- Hands-on experience testing critical software systems in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
- Experience performing requirements-based system level testing.
- Experience in implementing and performing load / stress testing of web-based applications.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding atmosphere.
- Willing to work flexible hours as needed.
