Role: Director of Product Marketing

Reports to: Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing

REQUIREMENTS:
* BS or MS in life sciences or a related discipline,Ph.D. a plus
* Minimum 5 years experience in marketing with emphasis on product management and marketing of infectious disease in the Diagnostics Market
* Experience and ability to execute product marketing strategy in line with overall corporate strategy
* Strong time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work in cross functional teams
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the time.
* Extensive network of contacts within the molecular diagnostics and/or infectious disease markets

Job description:
The Director of Product Management is responsible for managing all aspects of product management from product inception through product introduction. The company currently has one product on the market and has multiple products under development for introduction in the next 12 months. The Director of Product Management is responsible for all aspects of product definition, planning, introduction and product marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manages product marketing function, the analysis of market trends, development of customer requirements documentation and competitive intelligence. Identifies opportunities to increase customer and business values.
* Formulates and executes business and marketing strategies based on thorough market and competitive analysis.
* Business case development for new/existing product initiatives, launch plan creation, management of product life cycle. Integrate individual product plans into an overall product strategy for the company.
* Ensures that new product proposals are created with sound business cases and well defined customer requirements. Negotiates effectively with Product Development to optimize the ROI and success of new product investments.
* Fosters a strong working relationship between the product management function and sales, partnering effectively to drive product sales.
* Cultivate and develop Key Opinion Leaders, product advocates, speakers/presenters and research collaborators.
* Responsible for forecasting and managing pricing, product demand, and business analysis, including revenue, margin and market share. Leads the development of annual revenue plans in collaboration with sales. Contributes to fiscal planning and budgeting for future positioning, growth and evolution of the product lines.
* Manages the cross-functional interface with internal leaders in R&D, Operations, Quality, Sales, and Customer.
* Identifies and assists in managing strategic partnerships, including relationships with customers, suppliers and industry opinion leaders.
