Job Title: Infrastructure Alliances Manager, Storage & Networking

The Storage & Networking Alliances Manager is responsible for VMware’s
partnerships with a group of storage and networking partners. S/he will be
responsible for building senior level relationships, devising alliance
strategies, and driving both technical and business initiatives that expand
VMware’s growth.

- Devise VMware’s partnering strategy with a group of storage and networking
vendors, establishing strategic goals, priorities, and programs
- Develop and manage relationships across these alliances, ensuring that
VMware and the vendors are appropriately engaged throughout all levels of
both organizations
- Ensure alignment of roadmaps and product releases, and also ensure that
the appropriate integrations between partner products and VMware products
occur. Maintain a roadmap of projects with the partners and drive them to
successful closure
- Become the business and virtual team lead for alliances, systems
engineering, and marketing investments across these partnerships
- Drive joint go-to-market activities. Working closely with VMware marketing
and the partner’s marketing teams, identify and drive a variety of joint
marketing programs: awareness, demand generation, field programs, channel
programs, and leverage the partner’s programs to drive VMware proliferation
- Identify and own licensing and/or distribution programs

- 7+ years of experience in business development, technology alliances,
product marketing/management, or sales engineering roles in enterprise IT
technology vendors, with a principal focus in storage or networking
- Knowledge of storage and networking industries and vendor product lines
- Demonstrated effectiveness in relationship-building and influence skills
with a broad constituency ranging from Business Development to Product
Management to Engineering to Sales Leadership
- Ability to work out results-oriented win/win plans in complex, often
“co-opetitive” partnerships
- Expertise in creating, driving, and executing solutions and product
marketing for storage and networking solutions
- Demonstrated ability to enable field organizations to achieve leveraged,
repeatable sales wins, as well as skills in gaining follower-ship from
sales, marketing and other alliance functions
- Crisp and effective communicator who can work well within extended teams
- B.S. degree in a technical discipline required. MBA is a plus
