Position: Strategic Alliances Engineer

This is an exciting and major role to work with industry leading strategic alliance partners to build best of breed security network solutions that utilize the enterprise, application delivery and also the data center products in Brocade’s Extraordinary Networks portfolio.

The role of the Strategic Alliance Engineer for Security is to help develop and manage technology partnerships that collaborate and work on joint security network solutions with Brocade Application Delivery and Enterprise network product portfolio.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Acts as a strategic technical point of contact for alliance executives

- Drive interoperability plans, tests and reports, solution guides and whitepapers

- Provide technical training to staff, technology and channel partners on joint alliance solution

- Provide answers to Sales Engineer technical inquiries

- Build custom demos as needed based on business development requirements to demonstrate joint Brocade and Technology Alliances solutions

- Ability to educate existing and prospective customers on technology and Brocade’s solution sets

- Experience and understanding of the competitive networking space and be knowledgeable in differentiating Brocade’s value proposition as a superior solution set for customers

- Ability to learn new technologies and to be able to explain this to the customer base relating Brocade’s features, advantages and benefits

- Provide training classes to our security technology partners. This would include layer 2 and layer 3 switching and routing classes on Brocade OS as well as Layer 4-7 application delivery or load balancing products

The role will optimally be based out of San Jose, California and may require travel both within the US, and internationally.

Requirements:
- B.S./M.S Degree or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience with security products and solutions
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with security products including firewall, SSL, VPN, UTM, IDS/IPS, NAC and security event information management products.
- CISSP certification required and others certification, e.g. CISM or CGEIT preferred.
- Experience with hosted or managed security services highly preferred.
- Previous experience working in product marketing or as an Sales Engineer is required
- Ability set-up hardware, software and security solutions and ability to troubleshoot simple and complex problems. This is a hands-on technical position

This position will require the candidate to be a forward thinker and constantly seek-out and formulate future technology paths based on the ever-expanding partner projects and initiatives.

Heavy partner alliance interaction is required and the candidate must be an excellent presenter, evangelist, and represent Brocade in a positive manner to partners, customers and competitors.
