My client, a public company approaching $200M+ in revenue with a strong cash position, is the leading provider of computing systems and software for data-intensive applications that include embedded computing systems and software that combine image, signal, and sensor processing with information management for data-intensive applications. They architect comprehensive, purpose-built solutions that capture, process, and present data for defense electronics, homeland security, and other computationally challenging commercial markets.
Position Summary:
The Sr. Product Manager, GPU Products, is responsible for the GPU product lines, including Hardware and Software.
Owns Product Management lifecycle for GPUs; responsibilities include: develop market and product requirements, develop market launch plans with Product Marketing, develop pricing strategy, press releases, sales collateral, technical sales training, customer presentations, supply chain strategy, 3rd party partner development and relationships. This is a highly visible position with prospects/ customers and the Sales/Capture organization.
Position Responsibilities:
- Solid understanding of target marketplace
- Ability to position product line values relative to the competition
- As the product expert, support on-site sales calls with Sales
- Responsible for the complete definition of the market requirements for product, both business and technical, including: cost targets, time to market, hardware, software, firmware requirements. Ecosystem definition such as open software standards and positioning.
- Act as the focal point for external inquiries from customers, Sales and Manufacturer’s Representatives for all product-related issues.
- Define, maintain the product roadmap
- Development of pricing proposals and maintain price list
- Life-cycle planning and management, including obsolescence management, variant strategy and supply chain strategy
- Provide competitive analysis and training to sales organization
- Partner with product marketing team to develop and maintain all the sales tools necessary for the success of the product(s) in the marketplace.
- Partners with SSI/3rd party PM group to coordinate vendor partnerships
- Partners with Sales/Capture Management in support of maintaining customer satisfaction and securing design wins
- Responsible for the design and maintenance of product naming conventions and associated part numbers
- Drive the timely completion of life cycle elements (PRDs, part numbers; pricing; gate approvals; data sheets; market launch plans)
- Provide strong leadership skills to the product development team; and builds strong partnering relationships with customers, outsourcing partners, internal staff, peers and engineering teams
- Some travel to customer site required
Required Skills and Competencies:
- 5 + yrs of directly related product management experience with a proven track record in defining and launching high-technology software/hardware products.
- Solid understanding of target marketplace - Defense
- Strong technology background in Real Time - Embedded Software Systems/Products - GPU Products
- 5+ years hands on software development in image processing, signal processing or related application space preferred. GPU programming experience desired.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and acts with a sense of urgency
- Strong leadership skills and ability to build strong partnering relationships with customers and outsourced partners
- Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional teamwork among Sales, Engineering, Operations and Marketing
- Strong technical skills with an ability to quickly assimilate new ideas and concepts
- Superior written, verbal and presentation skills
- Must be a US Citizen with an (Active Secret Level Clearance or the Ability to Secure)
- BS in engineering, computer science; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
