Our client, a global leader in the development and manufacture of
information technology and services needs to fill an opening for a
Project Manager- Data Center Consolidation.
JOB DESCRIPTION - RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Manager- Data Center Consolidation
Data Center Consolidation PM Position
- Company is building Next Generation Data Centers and consolidating
business from older less efficient locations.
- This positions is a lead project manager for a major customer data
center move.
1. Manages data center relocation projects
2. Manages project financials including business impact
3. Manages stakeholder relationships
4. Manages project team
- Lead and manage the movement of customers between data centers
with help of regional/local DC resources.
- Manage and coordinate multiple move/implementation teams.
- Act as SPOC for the customer move team.
- Own planning for customer moves, organize the entire move
execution, financial tracking and control progress.
- Project status communication (dependencies) with other projects.
- First line escalation point for project issues & changes.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of key Services’
operational policies, processes and methodologies applicable to project
management.
- Extensive understanding of critical project management techniques.
- Recognized as a leader in the PM Professions community.
- PMP Certified

REQUIRED SKILLS - EXPERIENCE:
PM Skills Required:
- Deep knowledge of Datacenter Management
- Excellent knowledge of global Project Management
- Experienced in managing complex projects with high value (people,
budget, cost)
- Excellent knowledge of Outsourcing Procedures/Processes
- Ability to have conversations with senior management
- Experienced in senior & high level financial reporting
- Experienced in people management
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Broad experience in infrastructure projects including servers,
storage and networking.
- Understanding of physical infrastructure requirements and
installation (cabling, power requirements, rack layouts, etc.)
- Broad application experience. Specific knowledge of SAP, Oracle
and PeopleSoft a plus.
- Experience moving customer environments between data centers-
complex environments with large data stores.
- Ability to quickly adapt to internal company requirements and
processes
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
EDUCATION- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- First Level University degree
- 10 years experience in project management roles or in like
roles/businesses.
