Position: Uportal Engineer

Location: Boston, MA

Company:

The senior software developer will be responsible for the daily
operation, maintenance and development of technology products
including its enterprise class portal web application. The portal is a
single destination for access to, and personalization of Group
products, content, and services

Applicants must demonstrate a strong software architecture background
combined with a solid foundation in web technologies is also desired,
including advanced knowledge of Uportal, CSS, XSL, Javascript, J2EE
and AJAX. This is a “hands on software development” position.

Candidate must also demonstrate strong interpersonal and written
communication skills.

Experience with developing portals.
Experience with Hibernate and Spring Frameworks
Professional software design and development experience (7+ years).
Experience developing, and administering J2EE web applications
In depth knowledge of web technologies (Java, JavaScript, XML, XSLT,
CSS).
Experience with at least one web server platform (Apache Web Server
preferred).
Experience designing highly scalable websites.
Experience implementing disaster recovery processes and service
monitoring tools to ensure high availability of web applications
Experience with enterprise-class web application issues (load
balancing, server maintenance, data migration).

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Desirable).

Skills:

Oracle or similar relational database design experience required.
Database server/programming (SQL). Oracle PL/SQL highly desirable.
Advanced J2EE, HTML, XML, XSL, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Windows server management experience.
