Location: Midtown Manhattan
Description: Hot publicly traded Internet company is adding 100 Linux servers to their co-located datacenter. They are looking to hire a strong PM to manage this project. Beside project management experience candidate should have prior experience as a software engineer or system administrator.
Primary Responsibility:
- Managing the plan of a new co-location datacenter (approximately 100 new Linux Servers)
Secondary Responsibilities:
- coordinating / scheduling tasks among team members and 3rd party resources
- writing technical documents describing operational infrastructure and procedures
- Assisting team in monitoring our production environment
Requirements:
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and techniques
- Proven experience in delivering projects on time
- Managed multiple resources (successfully matrix managed different resources in different departments)
- Excellent interpersonal skills; Proven motivator
- Strong technical background. Prior experience working as a system administrator a huge plus.
- Strong written and verbal English skills required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and flexibly in a team environment
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities; handling many projects and tasks simultaneously
- Must be naturally organized
- Fast learner, attention to detail, good team player
