Technical Consultant - Storage Delivery
Position Location: Mid Atlantic

Responsible for delivery of storage services according to a statement of work. This responsibility typically spans all layers of IT infrastructure including hardware, software, networking, and applications. HDS Technical Consultants perform all manner of storage services including data migrations, SAN implementations, tiered storage architecture, and implementation of advanced storage functionalities.  Specifically, candidates for this position should have experience designing, deploying, educating, and integrating tiered storage solutions based on hardware and software products from HDS or other storage vendors.

The Technical Consultant will be responsible for leading customers through the deployment of HDS storage solutions, with specific emphasis on migrating customer data and servers onto HDS storage platforms.

Breakdown of role by time spent on each activity:
- Delivery of services (80%)
- Sharing knowledge and experience with other consultants (15%)
- Developing new services (5%)
Travel associated with this role ranges 75 - 90%.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent customer and employee relationships - must be able to interact successfully with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels in the organization
- Proven ability to provide oversight and leadership to project teams in service delivery
- Demonstrated ability to guide a complex project from inception through delivery and completion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to write project status reports, management escalation documentation, and service planning and definition information
- Strong technical background in the areas of data storage and replication
- Enterprise storage management
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent education or experience
- 3-5 years experience in a technical professional services organization
- 5+ years technical industry experience in customer-facing roles
- 3 years experience working and supporting enterprise customers in storage deployment and management
- Solid operating systems skills with storage configuration (volume management)
Solid understanding of tiered storage concepts in an enterprise environment.
Knowledge of Server replication products (RoboCopy, StorageX, SecureCopy, mirroring), etc.)
Strong customer communication skills, both written and oral
Strong group presentation skills and experience providing training to customers.
Self motivated - proven track record of working well independently at customer sites
