Position: Senior Software Engineer

Palo Alto based well-funded consumer-facing startup company building a state-of-the-art communication platform, is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Software Engineers with extensive backend cross-platform development experience in C++ to join their exceptional team of engineers and researchers. The primary responsibilities will be server-side system design and development.

Responsibilities:

Drive continuous development of new features and improvements of the scalability and efficiency
Generate new ideas and suggest creative approaches to the technical problems
Design, develop, maintain a scalable user account system
Design and develop services to monitor and log the performance of the product

Requirements:

- Strong desire to work in a dynamic startup environment
- Expert knowledge of  C++
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities
- Strong experience in designing, developing, and deploying high performance backend servers for commercial systems in C++
- Solid database implementation and optimization experience, preferably MySQL
- Good communication skills
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

Pluses:

- Good experience with PHP
- Experience with either Ruby or Python
- Experience with social networking Web APIs
- Java experience
- Experience with billing systems for online services and mobile services
- Experience with P2P systems
- Experience with Scrum or Agile development methods
