Senior Software Engineer: Backend development, C++

Palo Alto based well-funded early stage stealth mode startup company building a state-of-the-art communication platform, is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer to join their exceptional team of engineers and researchers. The primary responsibilities will be server-side system design and development. The company is founded by seasoned entrepreneurs in the technology and Internet space.
The compensation is a generous mix of base salary and stock options.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, maintain a scalable user account system
Integrate backend with VoIP billing system
Drive continuous development of new features and improvements of the scalability and efficiency

Requirements:
Strong desire to work in a dynamic startup environment
Strong experience in designing, developing, and deploying high performance backend servers for commercial systems
Extensive experience in server-side development and multi-threaded programming
Expert knowledge of  C++
Solid database implementation experience, preferably MySQL
Good experience with PHP
Experience with either Ruby or Python
Good communication skills
Advanced degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

Pluses:
Experience with billing systems for online services and mobile services
Experience with P2P systems
Experience with billing systems for online services and mobile services
Database schema design and optimization experience
Experience with Scrum or Agile development methods
Experience/knowledge of SIP platforms such as Freeswitch or OpenSER is a plus
