Product Architect for our client in Silicon Valley.

Job Description:
This highly visible Senior Digital TV Product Architect will be joining our
client’s DTV Product Team- The successful candidate will be responsible for
reviewing the company’s entire line of DTV products, aggregating their key
features and designing a new scalable DTV architecture for the company’s
future products- This is a complete product life-cycle effort beginning with
the high level company product direction, developing the specifications and
architecture, modeling and prototyping as necessary and working with the
design all the way through to production-  This person should be familiar
with the developing industry standards within the DTV and consumer
electronics environments.
In addition to designing the future architecture, the successful candidate
will need to work directly with customers to promote, defend and negotiate
requirements in line with the Company’s direction-  This person will be
responsible for directly contributing to the system architectures,
technology direction and roadmap, and standards for the DTV product lines.
Developing reference designs and understanding the impact the new
architecture will have to existing customer software platforms is an
important part of the success in this position- To stay current and have
fun, the successful candidate may develop prototypes of the new platform
using FPGA’s.

As both an internal and external spokesperson, this role absolutely requires
that this successful candidate be a model for best engineering practices
within the organization- This highly visible position requires the candidate
to earn and maintain the respect of key leaders within the company.

Key Qualifications:
- MS or PHD in Electrical Engineering,  Computer Engineering or Computer
Science - 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience with 7 - 8+ recent
years in scalable CHIP / SoC architecture defining products for the consumer
electronics multimedia market- Architecture includes SW, HW (with embedded
SW), Microprocessor and DSP.

- Strong knowledge of Digital and/or Analog TV standards - Translating
existing standards’ requirements into Chip / SoC features, setting
performance evaluation and post-silicon validation metrics - Experience in
the DTV market is a requirement- Understanding DTV market specific usage
models and upcoming trends are highly desirable - Proven experience in
generation of architecture and technical specifications - Proficiency in
modeling / simulation using Matlab, C (complementary C+, Perl) and/or
Verilog .Knowledge of prototyping using FPGA’s a plus.
- Strong communication and persuasion skills - Customers, Partners, Internal
engineering organizations.
