Position: Senior Researcher

Pervasive is seeking a Data Mining expert to support research and development of our Data Rush technology. The ideal candidate will research into potential future directions and current applications for Data Rush. Responsibilities include research into Data Mining in new application areas, cutting-edge technology research and implementation.

Required Experience and Education:
- Masters or PhD in Applied Math or Statistics or similar field.
- Strong background in Data modeling and mining, statistics, information theory, text-mining, data analysis, and other data mining techniques is a requirement
- Sound knowledge of standard computer science data structures and algorithms
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in formulating and solving large scale mathematical optimization problem
- The candidate should be able to code in Java, C/C++ and to a lesser extend Perl or similar language
- Proven ability to design and implement computational algorithms
- We are prepared to train you in some areas to augment your programming skill set. However, we do not believe it will be possible to perform this job without the required background in statistics, information theory, coding, data modeling and mining

Preferred Experience and Education:
- SQL databases and standard data analysis software
- Ability to use Rapid-Miner, S-Plus, Mat Lab, and Insightful Miner
- Experience developing/designing large software system
