Position Responsibilities - Summary

The Enterprise Development Center seeks a Manager who will be responsible for defining & implementing the future state of software development lifecycle processes & toolsets. In this senior role, the candidate must demonstrate a track record in the “state of the art” technology domain including but not limited to architectures, frameworks, products and methodologies.

Detailed Responsibilities;

· Upgrade the Development Process, including best of breed new tools & methods
· Manage and work across the Information Technology department boundaries to coordinate, negotiate and facilitate adoption of the processes & tools
· Lead the IS community of both employees and consultants, to ensure a consistent, high quality development processes & uniform toolset usage
· Stay current with evolving industry and technical trends to ensure processes and tools maintain market relevance

Keys to this Position:

1. Strong Management skills required. This individual will manage up to 10 developers/analysts.
2. Technology background. This individual needs to have a background in the technology that is common at the firm (Java, .NET, Oracle, Unix, MQ Series, Web Services, etc.) The candidate needs to know the technology at the management/architect level so that he/she can build new development processes.
3. Strong communication, negotiation and facilitation skills are required.
4. Financial Services is a nice to have. If the individual does not come out of financial services, they need to be able to excel in a fast paced environment. Required Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, technical expertise and communication skills. The ideal individual will possess strong experience in software architecture and development. Specific requirements include:

· 8+ years experience in all phases of the development lifecycle
. 5+ years managing and leading software development teams
· 4+ years experience with object oriented development languages such as Java, C++ and .NET
· Ability to communicate across the enterprise is critical
· Experience in design, integration and deployment using middleware messaging technologies such as MQ Series and Web Services preferred
· Experience with continuous integration frameworks preferred
· Experience in defining development toolsets & standards preferred
· Experience with iterative development methodologies including Unified Process and Agile methods
· Strong team leadership and management skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast paced team oriented environment
· Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively
· Computer Science degree or related field
