This position is for a Senior Software Engineer in Operating systems bringup group of the x64 Systems Group.

The candidate will bring up Solaris, OpenSolaris on new hardware and troubleshoot the issues that arise.

Senior programming skills with extensive Solaris kernel and configuration experience is essential.

Kernel-level programming, networks/filesystems, performance tuning and/or Open Source experience is crucial.

The ideal candidates will have software development backgrounds and possess a solid understanding of system architecture.

In addition this candidate will also be instrumental in bringing up various SAS [ Serial Attached SCSI ] based products and ensuring their functionality at the component and as part of larger SAS fabric level.

Requirements:
- Kernel/device driver level development skills in Solaris/Unix environment
- Strong programming skills in C
- Technical understanding of BIOS architecture on x86 platform
- Strong Problem solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills in Solaris environment
- Solaris/Linux/x86 system bringup skills
- Proven technical leadership skills
- Expertise in x86 based enterprise systems architecture.
- Expertise in SAS/SAS2 protocols and associated storage technologies.
- Experience with Virtualization software such as Xen
- Experience with writing scripts [ phython, perl..]
