Note: This role calls for a U.S. employee who will be based abroad in Stuttgart, Germany.  Relocation assistance available.

Our Federal PSO provides our federal customers support in the evaluation and deployment of our entire line of VMware products, focusing on all sectors including Civilian, Intelligence and DoD agencies.

The Sr. Consultant Role:
VMware Sr. Consultants provide technical leadership in the design, installation, configuration, and implementation of VMware products and services; document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions.  Services include Operational Readiness, Business Continuance, Disaster Recovery, and Storage, and IT services Delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Independently conduct enterprise engagements with customers
- Maintain current knowledge of the entire VMware product line
- Conduct pre-packaged VMware consulting solutions in a timely and effective manner
- Assist in developing standard, reusable, “productized” service offerings-task definition, deliverables, and standard estimates
- Document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions

Requirements:
- 8+ years relevant experience, including customer-facing experience with FEDERAL System Integrator customers
- Strong technical knowledge of VMware products: vSphere 4, SRM (Site Recovery Manager), and/or View
- VCP 4 a strong plus
- Top Secret Clearance REQUIRED
- Experience with current software development methods, software and hardware architecture, and infrastructure design and development
- 3+ years infrastructure architecture and the design of complex distributed systems environments including failover techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning
- Understanding of storage architectures, including peripheral interfaces (SCSI, RAID, Ethernet) and multi-processor designs (SMP)
- Experience virtualizing enterprise applications (Exchange, SQL, ORACLE, Web severs, etc.)
- B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
