Position Responsibilities - Summary:
The Senior Systems Business Analyst is responsible for successful
participation and leadership in projects of various sizes, impact and
complexity in support of the company’s business plan. Principal duties
include eliciting and documenting functionality requirements for software
applications as well as providing peer reviews of requirements written by
other team members.
This individual will be called upon to lead requirement and brainstorming
sessions to determine appropriate needs and solutions. This position will be
required to move fluidly between the business users, application
development, quality assurance and other professional services to identify,
evaluate and document requirements that meet business needs.
The Sr. Systems Business Analyst will work as a conduit between the customer
community and application development team through which requirements flow,
interpreting and anticipating business needs with clarity and completeness.
The successful candidate will have the ability to use sound judgment to make
key decisions in the approach, design, scope and solution of business
requests in order to meet both strategic and tactical goals.
The Sr. Systems Business Analyst is also responsible to prepare the business
community for the newly introduced functionality by preparing comprehensive
implementation plans, communicating implementation and change to key
stakeholders and providing training to impacted users.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Act as the liaison between the technology groups and the Business
Customers
- Provide guidance and leadership to BA(s) and Project Teams
- Train, coach and mentor junior or new members of the team
- Fulfill the role of BA Lead while working on initiatives including
leading and facilit1ating meetings and working sessions.
- Determine the approach for gathering requirements and determine
the required deliverables for assigned projects
- Perform research and analysis to deliver high quality detailed
business requirements that can be understood by the business users and the
development teams.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelors Degree plus 6 years experience - Advanced degree
preferred.
- Experience includes working as a Business Analyst, Systems
Analyst, Project Manager or Quality Assurance Analyst.
- Must have domain expertise in the Property & Casualty Insurance
space.
- Project Lead experience required.
- With little supervision the Senior Systems Business Analyst must
be able to prioritize work, and meet deadlines while delivering high
quality, and positive outcomes resulting in high levels of customer
satisfaction.
- The successful candidate will have strong written, verbal and
presentation communication skills, have a thorough understanding of business
processes, the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, strong
analytical skills, as well as the ability to think abstractly, identify
patterns and use sound judgment to generate creative ideas and solutions.
- A Senior Business Analyst will be required to be well versed in
both the business and technology domains in order to make sound decisions in
the use of automated solutions.
- This role requires innovative thinking, the ability to resolve
conflict and demonstrated success leading and motivating others.
