Position: Senior or Lead Software Engineer - Audio Processing

Palo Alto based well-funded early stage stealth mode startup company building a state-of-the-art communication platform, is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior or Lead Software Engineer to join their exceptional team of engineers and researchers. The company is founded by seasoned entrepreneurs in the technology and Internet space.
The compensation is a generous mix of base salary and stock options.

Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for the overall audio architecture including audio compression, processing, and streaming
Lead the development of the audio pipeline for computers and mobile platforms
Participate in the development of communication protocols
Stay updated on most current developments in the field of audio compression/streaming

Requirements:
Strong expertise in audio compression and in wideband and ultra-wideband codecs in particular (Speex, AMR-WB, G.722)
Strong expertise in audio processing (echo cancellation, noise reduction, voice activity detection)
Experience in multi-platform development
Expert knowledge of C/C++
Good knowledge of audio streaming protocols such as SIP, RTP, and VoIP
Experience with Scrum or Agile development methods
Great communication skills

Pluses:
Familiarity with embedded systems
Experience in developing codecs for mobile devices
Advanced degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
