Position: Principal Systems Design Engineer job in SanDisk - Milpitas, CA

Job Description:
In this position, the individual will be responsible for designing, defining, and implementing system requirements for SATA based Solid State Drive Products. The individual will be responsible for helping to design and architect system controllers that implement complex Flash Management algorithms in both hardware and firmware. Lastly, the individual will coordinate the design of subsystems and integration of total system, as well as identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies and develop and recommend corrective actions.

This position requires a BS/BA degree or equivalent with 20 or more years of related experience in technical leadership positions. The ideal individual should have at least 15+ years related system level design experience and a proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. A background in storage related products is a plus. The individual must be self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have also demonstrated ability to work well with people and have a proven desire to work as a team member, both on the same team and outside of the team. In addition, the individual must have the abilities to work effectively cross-functionally to educate teams on complex algorithmic solutions employed in SanDisk’s Flash Management system, coordinate priorities and initiatives, troubleshoot and analyze complex problems, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required, as is an ability to work closely with firmware, ASIC, system, and qualification teams.
