We are recruiting for a Manager Product Developmentfor a Fortune 500 Technology company. This is a full time permanent position with the company and has a very attractive compensation package. The position is located in San Jose, CA.Position

Description:
The Manager Product Development is a first level manager position with primary responsibility for coordinating people and projects related to the creation and ongoing support of a product. This is both a technical-hands-on and a people-centric position which includes leading a global team of Developers, QA, technical writing and customer support engineers. Close interaction with the customer support organization is required.
- Manage the activities of the development team focusing on schedule, planning, project management and team productivity.
- Development projects delivered on time and within quality standards; project risks identified and communicated.
- Provides leadership and direct supervision of employees, including hiring, coaching/mentoring and guiding team members (day-to-day, hands-on leadership).
- Ability to drive continuous improvement throughout diverse/multi-site team.
- Functions as the central point of contact for product management and quality assurance.
- Contributes to and executes long term plans for product architecture and engineering development.
- May manage budget cost center; otherwise provides input required to effectively manage budget.

Position Requirements:

Hands-on technical experience with multiple platforms, web server/application servers, databases, web technologies, object oriented programming languages. Working knowledge for Java & C++ would be very helpful.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of network, systems, or application management products and solutions
-Good experience and understanding of virtualization/cloud environment and technologies
- Previous lead or management roles in product development deeply involved in project/people management using Agile methodology.
- Proven track record as project leader.
- Proven, effective leadership in a technical environment.
- Experience leading cross-functional, multi-site teams.
- Experience working in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- BS in EE or CS or equivalent.
