Aster Data is a looking for solid Java developers to join
our team. We’ve built a massively parallel database system that helps
customers like Myspace, LinkedIn, comScore, and ShareThis analyze tens to
hundreds of TB of data. To help in this analysis, we’ve developed a framework
called SQL/MR that allows users to write analytic functions for data mining,
graph analysis, financial analytics, etc. that run on our large clusters.

We’re looking for Java developers to help us with a number
of projects related to SQL/MR:

[1] SDK and Eclipse plugin. We want to make
developing SQL/MR functions as easy as possible. One part of this vision is
extending Eclipse to enable SQL/MR developers by providing them with
functionality to be able to create new functions inside Eclipse, to test them
locally, and then to deploy them to nCluster. The ideal candidate is a strong
Java programmer with a knack for UI. Eclipse plugin experience a plus but not
required.

[2] Analytic Library. We’re aiming to build a
suite of SQL/MR functions for various types of data mining and analytics. The
job would involve designing & implementing various interesting data
mining & analytic functionality at scale. The ideal candidate is a
solid Java programmer, a good algorithmic thinker, and is interested in solving
analytics problems.
