Technical Services Manager

Responsibilities:
As part of the Professional Services team, the Technical Services Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all technical, system and data-related projects at DemandTec’s retail customers including:
- Facilitating the transfer of data to/from customer
- Ensuring the integrity of customer data
- Understanding how DemandTec systems will map into customer systems and processes
- Identifying new technical consulting opportunities

This Manager must be an experienced consulting professional who possesses a balance of analytical problem solving ability, proven management experience, strong interpersonal / communication skills and technical acumen.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Technical Services retail team
- Serve as the lead technical resource on complex retail engagements
- Review the design of technology-based solutions for each customer
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve DemandTec’s level of customer service and reduce our cost-to-serve
- Work closely with customers and DemandTec teams to ensure timely completion of project milestones, build strong project team relationships, facilitate complete understanding of unique customer environments, and improve internal processes

Required Experience:

- Ability to learn quickly
- 4+ years of Technical Lead experience implementing applications with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong knowledge of relational database environments and SQL queries
- Prior data integration, data warehouse, or ETL experience
- Ability to handle vast quantities of data and summarize meaningful insights
- Procedural programming skills with 2+ years of practical experience. (Familiarity with object oriented concepts/languages such as Java, c++, etc. a plus.)
- Ability to identify and resolve problems and to gather and analyze information skillfully to develop appropriate solutions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fanatical attention to detail
- Demonstrated initiative in an unstructured environment
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

Desired Experience:
- 2 - 5 years of technical professional services/customer implementation experience
- Retail systems experience (supply chain, POS, trade funds, etc.)
- Familiarity with Linux or UNIX operating system
- Familiarity with IBM DB2 and/or SQL Server a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
