Position: IC Design

Company:
Freescale’s Wireless Connectivity Operation (WCO)
(www.freescale.com/802154 ) produces 802.15.4 compliant stand-alone radio transceivers, multi-die system-in-a-package modules and system-on-a-chip integrated circuits. All designs are fabricated using modern CMOS process nodes and are contained in volume conscious packaging technologies. We have both local and remote design, applications and software teams. WCO focuses on providing customers with one of the best out-of-the-box experiences possible, enabling integration of 802.15.4 radio communications into end products as smoothly and quickly as possible. We are currently the market leader in the 802.15.4 space and RF4CE and intend to stay that way.

A typical IC design from WCO will be constructed on 0.09u and 0.18u CMOS and include: microcontroller, standard digital peripherals, mixed signal circuitry (ADC), voltage regulators, oscillators, PLL, RAM, Flash, and 2.4 GHz Tx and Rx circuits. Design phase starts by ensuring that all the appropriate access mechanisms and specification are in place to accommodate block level (or finer) testing and performance goals. The documentation process presides any design activity so excellent writing and verbal skill are a must. This particular opportunity requires leading design and specification of digital subsystems from 802.15.4 MAC state machines and setup of mix signal simulation environments. In addition this position requires, working with system architects and software team to converge on the overall best architecture and verification of functionality both FPGA and Verilog test benches.
