Urgent Need for a Sr. Network Engineer - Infrastructure
Our Client in Cupertino, CA is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their Global Network Services team. This person will be responsible for supporting core Infrastructure which includes connectivity across the WAN, ISPs, Field Offices, DMZs, 3rd Party partners, and Call Centers.

Responsibilities also include supporting services such as an internal Content Delivery Network, WAN optimization, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and remote access environments. Strong candidates will have a solid background in design, infrastructure support, and implementing network and telecommunications services utilizing voice, data, and multimedia technologies.

This person will need to excel in a fast paced and dynamic environment with ability to multi-task and deliver solutions across a complex network.

Must be a collaborative and team player and participate in the Network Architecture team, ability and willingness to mentor others and have a sound business minded approach to design and service solutions.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide senior engineering leadership on all design and standards issues including analysis, development, implementation, as well as training and mentoring of technologies across the teams.

Evaluate, test, develop, and implement complex technical solutions to address a variety of business problems. This includes hardware, software, configurations standards, and creating solutions with specific focus on:

Global WAN backbone architecture and support

Management of ISP peering relationships

MPLS, Multicast, VoIP design and implementation standards

Global IGP Routing Protocols

Service convergence strategy and design (IP Telephony, VoIP, Video, Data, Multimedia)

Remote Access solutions including RSA SecureID, Cryptocard VPN, and understanding of certificates and how they’re applied to these environments

Ring topologies including DWDM and Sonet

Participate and lead the installation and/or changes of communication systems in accordance with change management practices

Participate on implementation teams to integrate new network designs into production with minimal impact to online operations

Develop written procedures, engineering drawings, and other technical documentation

Proactive and direct interface, coordination, and development with business groups and external partners

Coordinate and direct preventative maintenance of all major communications systems components

Mentor junior engineers and peer teams as required

Duty pager rotation

Requirements and Qualifications:

10 years experience with enterprise level network design and support

Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches (Cisco experience a must)

Must have superior network routing protocol troubleshooting skills (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS)

Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including POS, PPP, VRRP, HSRP, and SNMP

Security experience with Juniper Netscreen & SRX, Cisco FWSM’s, PIX, and ASA. Must understand and have experience with IPSec, 3DES, AES, IKE setup.

Experience with security issues and Access Control methodologies

Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies

In-depth knowledge of network monitoring and other network administrative tools

Network certification preferred (CCIE, JNCIE, CCNP)
