Senior Software Developer
Description:
Our client is a world leader in the mobile communications market and has a
history of developing breakthrough wireless solutions- Their portfolio of
award-winning products, services and embedded technologies is used by
thousands of organizations around the world and includes a wireless
platform, software development tools and software/hardware licensing
agreements- They are is seeking driven individuals who can take our wireless
data products to the next level in the global wireless market- Are you ready

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of their Software Organization, you will play an integral role
in shaping future product direction and influencing architectural decisions
by researching, prototyping, and demonstrating innovation opportunities that
span Email, Instant Messaging, Social Networking, Media, and other
consumer-oriented software applications on our devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities for applicants may include but are not limited to:
Working in conjunction with teammates to formulate a shared vision, then
researching, prototyping and presenting solutions that make the vision more
tangible and actionable (both from a product and technical perspective)
Collaborating with project stakeholders to identify and influence software
solutions that maximize business value by realizing the appropriate balance
of near-term and long-term objectives
Building demos that showcase technology advances and new capabilities that
can be leveraged by other engineers.
Working closely with Product and Engineering to identify and promote
opportunities to create a user-friendly Customer Experience
Acting as a practitioner and proponent of software reuse, highlighting
opportunities to leverage and reuse software across the organization
Making presentations to executives, steering committees, project
stakeholders, engineering and others

Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical
Engineering
7-10 years of Java development experience
Strong object-oriented design and programming skills
Mobile device experience, specifically, developing software for memory and
CPU constrained platforms
Demonstrated ability to play a leadership role when coordinating projects
that span teams, including working with partner organizations
Experience with web services and multi-threaded programming
Your resume should demonstrate your ability to take initiative and develop
innovative applications
Solid team player

ADDITIONAL ASSETS:
Experience with device software development
Familiarity with the JDE and/or Eclipse
Familiarity with vector graphics and animation formats such as SVG, SMIL and
Flash
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
Experience in a research and development environment
Passion for mobile technology

Position Description:
You will be responsible creating and developing cutting edge
technologies for the mobile device space- Strong skills in
the areas of software analysis, design and implementation
are required- The successful candidate will have a big
influence on the technology to be developed and must have
the ability to quickly bring their ideas to a proof of
concept level on a mobile device- Your team’s
responsibilities will also include supporting other Samsung
development groups bring new functionality to market.

Requirements:
- 3-9 years experience in developing new technologies, ideally related to the
mobile phone space
- Very strong C skills

Extensive experience in some of the following areas is
required:
- Embedded C system development
- Strong OO design skills and system architecture
- Java (J2ME) platform development
- Mobile application development
- Graphic library internals
- Multimedia support on mobile device
- Performance critical systems
- Knowledge of compiler internals
- Debugging tools on embedded devices
