The Global Demand Planner is a leadership position in the Demand Management & Planning organization responsible for the world wide Demand Planning of Cisco’s Product Families in support of Manufacturing. This role will:

- Own the generation of the unconstrained demand signal for a specific set of product families by developing a consumption-based Master Production Signal (MPS) leveraging the BU forecast, historical data, and metrics.
- Collaborate with CDO marketing and provide closed loop feedback regarding forecast trends and accuracy.
- Act as the interface with Product Operations on all planning related activities. Monitors, manages and presents detailed planning metrics for the product operations team.
- Manufacturing’s representative in the Consensus based forecasting process.
- Collaborate with Global Supply Planners to determine allocation priorities in support of business objectives
- Prepare and provide an accurate picture of future consumption to allow for components positioning, capacity planning, and ROP sizing.
- Apply business intelligence (big deals, product transitions, NPI, EOL, EOS, etc.) to the MPS.

Additionally, the Global Demand Planner will assist in driving process improvement and participate in occasional cross-functional projects with the greater manufacturing and operations organizations. The position will interface with operations and planning teams up through the director-level on a regular basis.

Skills Required:
- Command of key material planning concepts
- Possess superior communication, influence and interpersonal skills to motivate and build consensus across many functions and levels
- Strong analytic skills including knowledge of statistical modeling and basic forecasting practices.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing process and procedures
- Team leadership
- Practical experience in a planning and manufacturing environment

Educational Background Recommended:
Typically requires BS or equivalent and 8 to 10 years related experience.
MBA and relevant Demand Planning experience preferred; knowledge of computer networking industry desirable
Prior experience in forecasting, financial analysis, product marketing and manufacturing planning a plus.
