information technology and services needs to fill an opening for a
Subject Matter Expert.

JOB DESCRIPTION - RESPONSIBILITIES:

Subject Matter Expert
Roles & Responsibilities
- Engineer mainframe tools & utilities
- Produce component build artifacts and publish in Knowledge Centre
- Provide 4th level delivery support for engineered solutions
- Interface with delivery organizations to develop global processes,
standards and solutions
- Interface with vendors to maintain product knowledge and to ensure
engineering direction aligns with roadmap
- Interface with Portfolio/Sales to ensure engineered solutions are
included in the cost models and reflected in the Managed Mainframe
Services offerings

Detail Activities:

- Engineer mainframe tools & utilities
- Review Requirements from Delivery & Portfolio
- Conduct Analysis
- Develop Design
- Develop Solutions
- Perform Unit Test
- Perform System Test
- Perform Integration Test
- Perform Capacity Test (where applicable)
- Integrate Solutions with other components (where applicable)
- Package Solutions for Delivery

- Produce component build artifacts and publish in knowledge centre.
- Produce Technical Reference Guide
- Produce Deployment Guide
- Produce Operations Guide
- Produce Bill of Materials/Labor (where applicable)
- Produce User Guide (where applicable)
- Produce Training Materials (where applicable)
- Submit for peer review and approval
- Publish in Knowledge Center
- Provide 4th level delivery support for engineered solutions
- Support Job-1 deployments
- Support solution fixes and maintenance
- Provide 4th level escalation support
- Interface with delivery organizations to develop global processes,
standards and solutions
- Establish & maintain relationships with delivery organizations as
appropriate
- Review processes, standards, requirements, etc. and discuss as
appropriate to ensure full comprehension
- Provide training on engineered solutions
- Interface with vendors to maintain product knowledge and to ensure
engineering direction aligns with roadmap
- Establish & maintain relationship with major vendors
- Enroll in email auto notification for strategic and alternative
products
- Attend webcast seminars on product releases & future roadmap
- Review vendor roadmap for alignment with strategic & tactical
direction
- Identify and submit enhancements as required (DARs, etc.)
- Perform engineering due diligence on all releases & maintenance
- Test new releases & enhancements
- Interface with Portfolio to ensure engineered solutions are
included in the cost models and reflected in the MMS offerings
- Establish & maintain relationships with Portfolio
- Review MMS offering materials with Portfolio and provide input as
required
- Review engineered solution with Portfolio for inclusion into the cost
model and service features

REQUIRED SKILLS - EXPERIENCE:

- Software installation on Mainframe, UNIX and Windows platforms
- Working knowledge of CA-OPSMVS, CA-AP, IBM-SA, IBM-SA for IOM &
IBM-HMC automation and console management tools
- Working knowledge in Networking Protocols: OSI model, Active
Directory, LDAP, DNS, HTTP/S, TCP/IP, DCHP, S/FTP, VPN, NAT, VLAN, SSL
- Programming languages: HLASM Assembler, REXX  & C/C++
- 10+ Years of mainframe system programming & distributed systems
administration experience
- Written & Verbal Communications (English)
- Quality Management Systems & Processes
