Position Responsibilities - Summary:
My client seeks a Sr. JEE Engineer who will be responsible for the
evaluation, design, engineer, build, and support of middleware products.

This individual will be primarily responsible for building middleware
environments and delivering application teams value-add services including
products evaluation, system design, performance tuning, capacity management,
and systems integration. The person will also be responsible for promoting
standard IT processes and architectural best practices.

Strong system analysis, architecture, design and research skills -

The position breaks down as follows:  60% hands-on system engineering, 25%
infrastructure research, design and architecture practices, 15% leadership:
working with support engineers and developers across teams

- Very close to the technology - research, design, prototype and
configure middleware products/solutions

- Core Java and JEE

- Oracle products: WebLogic, Universal Content Management (UCM) and
OES

- Other Technology: Tomcat, Spring framework, SOA and Portals

- Messaging: WebSphere MQ, Active MQ and JMS

- Database: Oracle 11g

- Good knowledge of ITIL practices - Configuration, Change and
Release Management.

- Strong Infrastructure Management background - capacity planning,
performance management and security

Key Responsibilities:
- Work on the architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and
support of the middleware Infrastructure

- Evaluate middleware product’s features, upgrades and migration
path

- Work with platform, operations and application teams to implement
middleware infrastructure standards, best practices and guidelines

- Conduct Infrastructure configuration tests by developing test
plans, scripts and presenting results

- Provide technical leadership and mentoring, promoting adherence to
standardized IT processes, strategic principles and architectural standards

Keys to This Position:
1. This is a Hands-on Systems Engineer that has a development and
infrastructure background.  This is not an Architect role.  It is a hands-on
Engineer/Developer.

2. The technical requirement includes:
a. Weblogic
b. Spring Framework
c. Tomcat
d. SOA and Portal Products

Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong systems analysis and engineering skills

- Strong understanding of middleware technologies and infrastructure
management

- 5+ years in middleware technologies including WebLogic, Tomcat,
Spring framework, WebSphere MQ, Oracle UCM, SOA and Portal

- 3+ years in Java/JEE development

- UNIX scripting is a strong plus - Shell, Perl, Python and WLST

- Project management skills is a plus

- Vendor relationship management and troubleshooting skills are
required

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

- Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment

- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field
