Position Responsibilities - Summary:

The Senior Data Architect is responsible for and shows a demonstrated expert
level of technical and architectural proficiency in the design and
development of enterprise-wide data and information architectures.

Manager of Technical Services - Architecture & Reporting Services

Key Responsibilities:

- Implements a master data management strategy to ensure a
consistent approach to enterprise architecture standards and to achieve
strategic business objectives.
- Performs vendor evaluations and recommends the implementation of
tools to design, store, maintain, enhance, and automate business data,
metadata, and analytical components.
- Works with functional business partners to ensure appropriate
terminology is applied to metadata for the locale and global classification
of data.
- Works with business architects to identify, define, and document
business processes, facilitating change throughout the enterprise.
- Participates in the development and implementation of the data
governance and master data management plan.
- Consults project teams on data architecture policies and best
practice procedures.
- Manages and develops a diverse, global direct and indirect team
for future growth within the department and organization.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Minimum experience required to perform this job.
- 5+ years of systems and technical architecture analysis, design,
implementation, and support of manual and automated database systems and
technical architectures - This is an Oracle Centric environment for the most
part.
- 3 years, or equivalent retails systems experience, as a Data
Architect and/or Senior Systems Manager
- Has successfully designed, implemented, and/or participated in
large-scale MDM and business intelligence solutions
- Has the ability to work in a matrix organization model
- Has strong presentation and collaborative skills and can
communicate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of
formal documentation
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience.

Minimum job skills required to perform this job.

- Expert and proven Master Data Management (MDM) professional who
facilitates, delivers, supports, and evangelizes all aspects of the MDM
program within a global application landscape, including ERP platforms,
middleware solutions, and integrated application data models
- Experienced in data modeling and design, data flow diagramming,
data warehousing and business intelligence, application and analytical
reporting tools and techniques, and service oriented data delivery
- Experienced in playing a leadership and mentoring role in
enterprise-wide data quality, business data stewardship, and data modeling
project assignments
- Knowledge of industry standard middleware, ETL, master data hub,
and service oriented architecture, design and delivery solutions
- Business analysis, process modeling, and a strong domain knowledge
of a global retail business a plus
- Exhibits a high energy, strategic thinking, results oriented,
global collaborative approach with highly tuned listening and communication
skills.

Travel:

Some travel is required for this role - Canada - UK - Estimated at 10-15%
max, probably less.
