My client is looking for a smart, results-focused Senior Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate must have strong business judgment and a proven ability to take effective, independent action to improve the company’s overall performance. Reporting to the company’s COO, this role will provide analysis in all areas of financial management for an early-stage company. You’ll focus on forecasting, analyzing current performance through the creation and monitoring of business metrics and conducting prospective and ongoing economic analysis of marketing programs, business initiatives and services. My client company is looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment who has the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives.

The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with the company’s leadership on the full range of the company’s expanding business and technology initiatives. This position will provide significant opportunities to take greater responsibilities within the finance team and into other business roles. The initial focus of the role will be to own the revenue budgeting and forecasting process, and the weekly business metrics for the company. The role will also be tasked with routinely analyzing and reporting on a variety of ad hoc business metrics from all department heads. Lastly, this role will be instrumental in helping to evaluate the company’s current data infrastructure, identifying weaknesses and recommending improvements as they scale.

Responsibilities:
- Build and enhance financial models to regularly forecast revenues and communicate drivers to senior management.

- Improve and create additional financial and business metrics reports and scorecards.

- Communicate financial results and analytical insight to company leaders and product teams to drive smart decision-making and improved business results.

- Provide a quantitative, data-driven business perspective to help the company’s leaders evaluate new and existing product lines, new features and services, and marketing programs.

- Gather and analyze market data; identify the key drivers and factors that will determine success or failure; build financial models; analyze trade-offs; and communicate insights and conclusions.

- Work on projects that support the finance team, such as defining financial requirements for new products and features; work with engineering teams to ensure that data required for finance is specified in new requirements.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred, or equivalent years of relevant business experience.

- 4 + years financial analysis experience with a high-growth company or a consulting firm.

- Expertise in financial modeling, including Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic.

- Knowledge of databases and ability to access data through SQL queries and BI tools strongly preferred.

- Strong technical background providing the ability to pick up or quickly learn skills necessary for any project.

- A record of increasing responsibility and demonstrable business impact.

- Ability to use numbers to communicate and validate critical concepts as well as extract insight from data.

- Must be hard working, detail-oriented, and committed to producing excellent quality end products.

- Must thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.

- Must have an exceptional understanding of technology-driven businesses.

- Undaunted by technology and technical concepts; able to work directly with engineers.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
