We are large, successful Investment Management Firm based in Boston.

Role: Lead Software Engineer in Java, Oracle, Web

Type: Full time

Salary: Up to $125K+ Base + Bonus + PS

Required Skills and Competencies:
· Excellent leadership, technical, management, and systems analysis skills
· Must have 5 or more years of proven object-oriented software design and development experience
· Must have 5 or more years of proven design, development, and architecture experience in Java-based technologies
· Must have 5 or more years of proven software development experience with browser-based applications and technologies, used both by internal users and externally on the internet
· Must have 3 or more years of proven experience with such technologies as web services, XML/XSLT, Struts Framework, log4j, ANT, and SOA
· Must have 3 or more years leading engineering teams on complex projects
· Proven experience in building technology solutions to satisfy complex business needs
· Must possess advanced Oracle SQL, SQL tuning, and PL/SQL skills
· Must be comfortable working in a Unix environment, and possess solid experience in various shell scripting languages
· Experience using and deploying to industry-leading application servers such as BEA WebLogic 8.x or above
· Experience with various software development methodologies, such as RUP
· Willing to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment
· Proven ability to support multiple applications simultaneously
· Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
· Must have experience with Documentum DFC· .NET technologies
· Must have experience with Jasper
· Must have experience with Apache FOP

Keys to this Position:
1. This is a hands-on Technical Lead position managing a small consulting staff.
2. Technology: Expert level Java (coding, designing and architecting). Web development skills are key: Html, XML/XSLT, Struts, JSP, etc.
3. This group is responsible for the Extranet (client facing websites) and therefore web development skills building large scale enterprise wide application experience is important.
4. PL/SQL and Unix are also required.
5. The ability to run multiple projects at the same time is also important.

Position Responsibilities -
· Lead architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support efforts
· Work with business team members, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans
· Author technical design and support documentation
· Manage a team of consultants through all aspects of the software development lifecycle
