Senior Software Engineers

Wily Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect, design and code new features and extensions of the Transaction Impact Monitor (Tim). This role, based in our Palo Alto office, will build high quality Tim software by building testability into the product and building unit tests, sustain in-market releases of Tim software by creating necessary patches and provide input to the architecture of Customer Experience Management products and integration into Wily Introscope platform.

The Senior Software Engineer will propose innovative new capabilities based on customer feedback as well as state-of-the-art technologies. Additionally, the Senior Software Engineer will troubleshoot and solve hard to reproduce bugs reported by customers and QA, assess technical and schedule risk of software releases and identify and select open source software components for use by Wily.

Responsibilities:
-Commitment to a career of software development excellence with at least 12 years of industry experience in companies that sell software as their core business.

-Record of delivering at least 10 releases of high quality software products.

-Experience working with open source technology components.

-Technology expertise in broad areas: networking, security, web applications, multi-processor systems, multi-threading, concurrency, web services and appliances.

-Technology skills in most of the following areas: TCP/IP, HTTP, C++, Java, SNMP, XML, Linux, Shell scripts, Python, Apache, and OpenSSL.

-Familiarity with software development life cycles, and agile programming methodologies.

-Keen sense of performance and scalability characteristics of systems software.

-In-depth understanding of large complex software systems and excellent analytical skills to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk and understand varied customer deployments

-BS in Computer Science from a top university. MS preferred.
