Senior Quality Engineer

Our Product Development team is seeking a Sr. QE Engineer to create and implement full QE lifecycle project test plans. The Sr. QE Engineer will be the lead on a fast paced product release, from requirements gathering through production release. You will have constant interaction with our Business Development, Marketing and Engineering Teams. You will be the first quality engineer on board, and will build the group along with the growth of the development team.

Essential Job Functions:
- Build and Lead team of QE Engineers to develop and execute test plans and test cases for our online Video Delivery System and the supporting applications for support, maintenance and billing.

- Coordinate the activities of internal QE Teams, in the development of Test Plans, and Test programs to meet individual project objectives.

- Test server components, system interfaces and client components.

- Perform API level testing, system testing, black box functional testing, client UI testing, stress, load and white box testing.

- Applies test methodology, engineering and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies for the analysis and qualification of products.

- Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.

- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality for large and complex projects.

- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.

- Develops test suites which assure reliability, scalability and performance as well as conformance to requirements and defect density.

- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.

- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.

- Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.

- -Select, integrate and customize the tools necessary to automate the workflow.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experience:
- 5-7 years prior experience in Quality Engineering, at least 2 years in a Lead role.

- In depth understanding Internet Client/Server and Video Delivery Architectures.

- Complete understanding of the traditional SDLC.

- Software QE certifications a plus.

- Solid understanding of Web Based applications including those based on Python, PERL and PHP.
