Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

This company is looking for a Senior QA Engineer who will be responsible for working on all aspects of the quality of products/tools and customer systems developed by them. The Senior QA Engineer will have a dual role and will be responsible for testing of the most complex customer systems and associated components in the production/QA environment, as well as working closely with the engineering team in testing the product line from release to release.

The candidate is expected to possess a strong understanding of software QA methodologies including experience in white box and black box testing to ensure the integrity of the QA process, developing test plans/cases, execution and reporting.

Technical Background:
-Bachelors Degree or equivalent is required, preferably in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, or a related field.

-5-7 years experience with web and/or software application quality assurance including building & executing test plans for exhaustive testing of complex products/systems.

-Experience with relational databases is required.

-Ability to read, understand complex perl scripts/modules and write small interfacing scripts to test them effectively, is a must.

-Experience with Internet technologies, including Perl, HTML, XML, web servers (IIS preferred), HTTP and FTP.

-Experienced with common programming and scripting languages, including C, C++, Java, J2EE, _JavaScript and Perl.

-Strong understanding of XML, SOAP and Security.

-Experience with developing automation frameworks or test tools preferred.

Necessary Attributes:
-Must be highly detail oriented and feel personally invested in producing a quality product.

-Individual needs to work cooperatively in a team setting while also having the stature to
push back and/or escalate issues that require management attention.

-Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities: The candidate needs to enjoy using her/his skills and intuition to figure out challenging technical problems.

-Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

-Experience in a web production, large scale database environment is a plus.

-Commitment and flexibility in supporting a 7×24 production environment with a global
user base is required

Responsibilities:
Conducting system quality reviews before a system is accepted into QA. This would entail ensuring the quality of the specification, that the system is architected appropriately to meet the business requirements, and that the code for the system adheres to coding standards, is well organized, and that corner cases are adequately covered.

The process would also include the development and documentation of system specific QA test plans Participating in the MRD/PRD/Design Spec reviews of the their product line Performing hands-on exhaustive white box and black box testing of custom systems that have been developed to customer specific requirements and also their product line on a release-to-release basis. Mentoring other junior members of the QA team.
