Position: Senior Communication Services Engineer
Location: Waltham, MA

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate must have extensive experience as a LAN engineer. Strong proficiency with troubleshooting heterogeneous type networks. Working knowledge and experience in deployment of the following technologies:

- Responsible for Network implementation, tier 2&3 support and technical testing activities for networking solutions
- Heavy hands-on experience using Cisco and other networking products, with extensive experience implementing and maintaining Cisco equipment.
- Evaluate, design, implement, and test technology solutions to satisfy business needs with an emphasis on networking technology
- Knowledge of IP traffic flow, sniffing, capturing and monitoring of live traffic streams
- Must demonstrate a high degree of operational rigor at all times
- Understanding of encryption and authentication technologies (e.g., SecurID, VPN, etc.)
- Must be experienced with all facets of LAN/WAN implementation and maintenance
- Must have strong knowledge of routing protocols with emphasis on OSPF, EIGRP & BGP
- Knowledge of layer 2 protocols, STP, Juniper Firewalls, Cisco Firewalls, TACACS server
- Must possess a thorough working knowledge of multi VLAN environments
- Provide day-to-day troubleshooting, design, and maintenance of network (This network has multiple sites and uses Cisco equipment)
- Large Data Center experience

Qualifications/Requirements:
- BS degree in a technical discipline or at least 7+ years of Cisco network experience (CCIE certification preferred)
- Possess strong working knowledge of Cisco network, router, switches
- Ability to communicate with management & coworkers in a professional and articulate manner
- Ability to be proactive in assessing and preparing for future needs in regards to network architecture
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and recommend solutions
- Ability to determine the root cause of chronic issues
- Proficient in Configuring & Troubleshooting:
- Cisco 6500 series routers
- L2 & L3
- Native & Hybrid codes
- Trunking
- VLAN’s
- ACL’s
- HSRP
- STP
- Cisco Load Balancers
- In depth ALC skills
- IPSEC/VPN tunnels
- Local Director & CSS

- Detailed knowledge of the following a plus:
- Juniper, Cisco firewalls
- Virtualized Server environments
- Unix Admin

- Technical Certifications geared towards the Cisco IP Telephony Design specialist [Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)]
- 2+ years experience in Windows Server operating system environment
- 2+ years of broadly based, progressive experience with medium/large scale IPT implementations and support
- Ideal candidates for this role would have at least CCNA certification, and preferably CCNP. Other certifications, such as Cisco wireless or MCSE, are desirable
