SAN Interoperability Escalation Service Engineer

Job Description:

3PAR is actively searching to for an Escalation Service Engineer to join our growing team. In this position you will be responsible for the following:
Work closely together with the Customer Service and Engineering departments to shorten time-to-resolution of customer defects.
Describe the customer defect in clear, concise accurate manner and gather all relevant defect information.
Formulate plausible theories and pland of action, tracked until defect resolution.
Document findings, plans and activities in the defect reports.
Reproduce customer environments using all 3PAR-supported configurations with the 3PAR equipment.
Work with a remote 3PAR colleague in a “follow-the-sun” coordinated approach during critical customer defect resolution.
Write clear Root Cause Analysis reports, following defect resolution.
Some availability outside normal business hours will be required in this position during critical customer defect resolution.

Experience and Skills:

BSEE/CS or equivalent technical degree.
SAN administrator or 3+ years testing Storage Subsystems and/or Servers.
Proficient with Unix/Linux OS.
Experience with troubleshooting large-scale enterprise systems.

Preferred skills:

Fibre Channel or iSCSI attached storage.
Experience with Solaris, Windows, HP-UX, AIX, and Linux.
VMware, Xen, Egenera, OnStor system administration.
Host server based multi-pathing and path fail over software.
Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBA) switches and analyzers.
Clustering, fail over and data replication concepts.
iSCSI devices.
