Title: VP of Engineering
Location: Boulder, Colorado
Job Summary: VP of Software Engineering, managing product development
and technology.

Essential Function:
We’re looking for a strong hands-on leader to build and direct an
outstanding team. The candidate will be responsible for on-time and
within budget product development including product direction, product
planning, design, implementation and test. The ideal candidate will
have a proven track record for delivering successful commercial
products to the market and have proven abilities in people and project
management. Candidate will work very closely with the CTO to turn
vision into reality. This is a high visibility position reporting to
the CEO.

Key Technical Requirements:
-Build and lead a top tier software development team through the
complete product development life-cycle.
-Provide ongoing leadership, direction, mentoring, and constructive
feedback to team members, facilitate their training, and nurture their
ongoing professional development.
-Set and communicate clear goals, expectations, structure and
direction for the team. Manage project plans, schedules and resources
to ensure delivery against product roadmap milestones and objectives.
-Develop and utilize procedures, policies, and tools to increase
overall organizational effectiveness.
-Strong technical background with proven record of on-time delivery of
reliable software
-Prior experience in executive-level, software project development
position(s).
-Java development experience.
-Ability to lead large teams in Java project development environment
(must have excellent knowledge of environment); 75-100 people and
managed multi-million dollar budgets.
-Strong knowledge of test and development tools.
-Experience in scientific or mathematical applications.
-Must be hands-on (including programming) and be able to build
effective teams and organizations.

team’s activities, operations, costs, priorities and results against
stated objectives.
-Direct and motivate the software development team to identify key
areas for design, process, quality, and cost improvement to assure
effectiveness.

collaboration with product marketing.
-Excellent communication, verbal, and presentation skills.

Years of Experience: 15 years with 10 or more years of

Education: BS in Computer Science, EE, Mathematics, Statistics,
Physics, and/or other technical field or equivalent business
experience. Advanced Degree a plus.
