TEKsystems is looking for two Consultants (on a W2 basis) for the
following opportunity in the North Denver area. The contracts are
slated to last 6 months but have a good chance of going longer (up to 18

In short, this is a conversion from Oracle 7.x to 9i on the front end
and middle tier and 10g on the back end. After that, a redeployment to
a Java application. I’ll be happy to provide more details when we
speak.

ANALYSIS TASKS:

- Data conversion requirements

- Evaluation of tools for testing & deployment

- Impact to DB & other boundary systems (e.g., JDBC driver upgrade,
etc.)

- Testing & user training requirements (with Business)

- Migration/EOL strategy (with Business)

DEVELOPMENT TASKS:

Iteration 1: Forms conversion to 10G

- Developer unit testing

- Developer peer testing

- Analyst: 50%

Iteration 2: DB conversion, Forms integration, & LDAP migration

- Developer unit testing

- Developer peer testing

Iteration 3: Oracle Reports/Reporting conversion & application
integration

- Analyst: 50%

Testing - Internal (w/ boundaries, Development only, w/ bug fixes)

- Stress testing: server side

- Performance tuning (w/ Analyst)

- Final IT testing

Testing - Alpha & Beta (UAT)

- Business testers

- Development support

The tasks above assume the following:

Development Resources:

- Two sub-teams (w/ 2 developers each) to work on Iteration 1 & 3 in
parallel

- DB upgrade to 9i & UTF8 by the DBA(s) occurs in parallel w/ above.

- The same sub-teams above to work on Iteration 2 to complete DB &
front end conversion.

- Required [minimum] skills:

a) Oracle DB, SQL or PL/SQL, Oracle Forms (9i preferred)

b) Oracle DB, Oracle Reports or other reporting tool, complex SQL
or PL/SQL

c) Oracle DB, stored procedures, packages, Java, localization

d) Multi-tier architecture/deployment & Oracle application tuning,
security, some E-biz Complex knowledge (Oracle Forms/Reports a plus).
